Weather Affects Me?

New discovery…I am affected by weather…I am weather phobic.  Whether I like it or not…hee hee hee…
I postponed some appointments I had this morning because I saw a hail and tornado warning for a city about 35 minutes away from us.  The weather forecasters kept bleeping into regular programming to warn of this impending weather condition.  I could not imagine driving in hail and 60 mile per hour wind.  I felt stress.  I did not want to go anywhere so…I cancelled.
I am also affected by guilt.  I felt guilty all day because although we did get wind and tons of rain…we didn’t get a tornado and we didn’t get any hail.
Now when I go to my appointments tomorrow…I will feel guilty.  I will make profuse apologies.  I will over tip.  I will bring her coffee and a muffin.  I am a wuss.  Is that a proper spelling?
I am wondering what you would have done in my circumstances.
I also am discovering that once I make a decision…I have a difficult time actually living with it!!!
Does anyone else think that having a blog is like having a pyschiatrist?

It's hard not to be affected after seeing what happened in Tuscaloosa. Last night was horrible for us, because we have a lot of friends there. Some were injured and lost their homes, but thankfully, they're all alive.

I wouldn't feel bad about rescheduling, Patty — if you were nervous about going out in bad weather (as most people are), you made the right call! Just think if you really had been stranded in hail or torrential rain… you might not have made it to your appointment at all.

Like you, I have a tough time making a decision and then not analyzing it from every angle, wondering if I did the right thing… I'm slowly (slowly!) getting better at making a choice and then saying, “It's done.” Wondering if I should have made a different one, in most cases, won't help!

Blogs can definitely be therapeutic — you're not alone! 🙂

You are telling this to me…the woman who took a “snow day” after 4 inches of snow fell in So Cal.

If the appts were easy to reschedule, then I would have cancelled, too. My doctor's appts take months to get since they are all with specialists so if it were an appt like that, then I'd have to suck it up and go anyway.

I thought schools should be closed today, because of the forecasts and was hesitate to go to work myself, so no, I think your feelings make a lot of sense.

I think you made the right choice.

As far as a blog being like a psychiatrist, I would be more likely to say yes if I didn't know that my husband, my mother , his mother, etc., all read it. Can't do much ranting, really.
