Okay…because I have huge fat needles tucked away in my closet plus yarn for two vests and one really chunky scarf…and a sweater…I read a book about knitting over the week end…not a how to knit book but a book about a girl…Sybs…her dog Basil…her wedding where…her twin sister leaves with her fiancé. Sybs and Basil escape to a small country town…Tindledale…where everyone knows everyone as well as their issues…oh my this book was so much fun! And so good for me because I am not supposed to be worrying about anything to do with my upcoming blood test but I worry…I really worry a lot.
Anyway…our new flannel sheets came from Garnet Hill…it’s our first time sleeping on flannel and the four of us had a warm and cuddly night! Den washed them on Sunday and they were on our bed Sunday night! Yummy! Den has some pretty weird idiosyncrasies when it comes to beds. He has to make our bed…he hates my way…heeheehee…snicker snicker…The pillowcases all have to be king…and we each have 4 pillows. And everything has to be tucked in. Den is now in love with sheets from Garnet Hill…that’s the only place for us for sheets from now on! Do you all wash sheets before putting them on your bed? Just wondering…
We were very hungry for Christmas cookies just like the kind we have been buying from Weggieman’s but I wanted a slice and bake recipe that I could ice with buttercream icing. I wasn’t in a roll out cookie kind of mood. After tons of googling and pinteresting…I found both! Den will testify to their crunchy outside but soft inside and yummy icing! These are my prototype…I will perfect them and make them into little snowman faces!
Books…what I should be here for…I have some new ones to choose from this week but I have no idea what I am in the mood for…I kind of want another English country knitting book with lots of tea and puppies and yarn! But I have whittled my choices down to these…for now! The top row of books are from lovely publishers through NetGalley…the rest of my lovely books are from lovely publishers through Edelweiss…I do so love Edelweiss! Once you get used to it…it is easy and fun!
I bought my little knitting book myself!
I am off to the basement to walk on my treadmill and pull up one more Christmas box and tuck away those darn pumpkins! We had an old wooden box filled with about a million pennies…they spilled onto the cold basement floor and neither Den nor I want to pick them up…oh my!
Have a good day!
Hugs,
Patty
I do love those sheets! I can almost feel them, and can imagine how great they would be for sleeping.
I’ve been eyeing Sisters Like Us…and I am very curious about Hot Mess.
I think it’s hilarious that Den insists on making the bed. Good one!
The cookies look good, too. Yum.
I am reading and loving the confusing book The Wife Between Us…and I’m sort of realizing why it is so twisted.
Enjoy your week!

Oh, flannel sheets are the best! It sounds like Den and I would get along famously about bed-making. I agree with him that everything needs to be tucked in just so with extra pillows. Although I am willing to let my husband make the bed his way after the first time just so I am not the only one stuck making the bed. I fix my side and call it a day! And yes, we absolutely wash new sheets before putting them on the bed!

I love that we all wash our sheets before first time use…Den is very fussy about our bed so I leave it all to him!

I can’t do flannel sheets – too warm 🙂 But yes, I wash them before putting on the bed for the first time. I love the covers on all your books and, because I’m a knitter, will have to check out The Great Christmas Knit-Off.

I always wash sheets, too, but I didn’t want to be the only one!

Yes, I absolutely wash sheets before using them! We have a set of flannel and I don’t like them – too hot!! But Bill does love them and OMG Lexie just adores the flannel sheets! She rolls around and won’t get out of bed when they’re on.

We loved them last night but we keep our bedroom kind of chilly!

I need to make some cookies but I don’t need to eat any cookies.

I always wash sheets after buying and putting them on the bed, in fact most things go in the wash before using. Flannel I love in winter, and your bread is buttered with Den making the bed! I agree Edelweiss is pretty good to use. Yummy looking cookies, my mouth is watering.

I know..you almost have to wash everything before use…Den is most definitely the master bed maker. I am not even in the running!
Slicing and baking these cookies was the best!

Yum! Your cookies look delicious. I haven’t even started thinking about the cookie portion of the holiday. I’ve got my son’s birthday party this week and too much shopping still to do!
All The Ever Afters looks good. I hope you enjoy whichever book you pick!

The Diminished caught my eye quickstyle! Added that. Your flannel sheets are cute; I love the color. We have switched to Martha Stewart’s fleece sheets! They are SO warm. I ordered a heavier comforter for me and the husband today. We are cold here.
