My Manic Monday?

Wasn’t that a song?

Ok…I just finished a nice workout while Den zipped to Weggieman’s.  They have this new bread…Honey Crisp Apple Bread…that we really want to try.  We also love their 27 Grains As Well As Seeds Bread.  I love toast…and my lovely little Wolfie Toaster Oven makes amazing toast…the bread gets toasted on one side and is perfect!  I think I could live on peanut butter toast or toast and tomato sandwiches.  Sigh!  Toasted cheese…toast and avocado…toast and honey…toast and egg salad…toast and tuna salad…toast and salad!  Apparently my list of toasted stuff appears to be endless!

Books…what I read and didn’t read over the weekend while Super Bowl took over my life.

I totally DNF’d this book.  I pretty much disliked it.  I rarely do this to a book but this one took me by surprise.  Characters were awful…plot was unrecognizable…I was struggling.  Really struggling…I know a book is an author’s precious gift to readers but…I could not read this one…

I needed something totally different so I started reading this one. Cora is the star of this show and a puzzle solving lady who hates puzzles.  This book is highly entertaining mostly because Cora is kind of dry and acerbic?  This is the 19th book in this series but my first one…I would definitely read more.

I am also reading The Hazel Wood…it’s soooo good I can’t stand it!  Fairytales…an astranged grandmother, mother and daughter and a big old isolated family home.

From Amazon…

Once I finish both of these I want to read one of these…I am in a fantasy mood this week.  The Wicker King is especially appealing to me.

Other stuff…

We did not have a Super Bowl Party but with Den we don’t really need one…he is the party…he shouts, he yells, he cheers, he screams…I have even seen him tear up over a football game…and everything he does is very loud!  However…he is fun to watch because he loves football so much.  I think i might have mentioned that he grew up in Colorado and loves the Broncos but since we live near Philadelphia he loves the Eagles, too.  So…yesterday was even more exciting…for him!

We did not even get to bed until close to midnight.  Roxie could not be awakened this morning…it was too funny…we were actually worried about her but she was simply sleeping off the Super Bowl with her big sister!

Tell Den my husband, my dad, and my brother were all noisy. I got noisy too in the second half. LOVED the fumble and interception! I’m so happy the Eagles won. We came home late last night from the city and didn’t go to bed until 11. It was hard waking up at 6:45 this morning.

Oh, my. I want to know how the honeycrisp apple bread is when you try it. I can only imagine it would be beyond yummy.
GFY on the dnf. Too many good books out there to spend time reading one you can’t find anything you like about it.
    The game was so exciting!

Hm, Sorority does look familiar – I might have downloaded it.

I am not a bread person and can’t tell you the last time I had toast.

I thought yesterday’s Super Bowl was the best one in recent years.

Where do you find these books? Except for The Hazel Wood, which I’ve been noticing around, they are all strangers to me. The books and the authors.

You may know that I prefer authors I’ve read before…when I go for new ones, I am often disappointed.

I never watch the Superbowl any more, but I was paying attention to it because I had a favorite show to watch afterwards: This is Us. I set the DVR, but left enough time on afterwards in case the Superbowl went long…which it did.

It is fun to watch football lovers during a game, though. LOL

The fantasy ones are all YA…so since that isn’t an area of interest for you…they aren’t familiar…they are mostly NetGalley and a few from Edelweiss…I think I am preapproved for lots of YA books because I do read quite a few of them. It is always fun watching Den during football…sometimes I wear headphones.

Love the photo with the cats 🙂
My publisher bought the rights on The Hazel Wood which means I might end up translating it if I ever finish Cassandra’s Dark Artifices which have like gazillion of pages…. 🙂

I am really missing Wegmans this winter! Will have to wait until we head north again to try that new bread. BTW, I had the most delicious avocado toast yesterday and am craving it again today. May have to slip out around lunchtime to get it!

My husband is obsessed with toast- and I know he would love to try both of those breads!

We went to my in-laws to watch the game. We stayed until the end of the 3rd and then drove home (10 minutes) to watch the end- since my husband had to get up at 5am for work and you never know how long the game will last. Definitely exciting. Living in CT there are a lot of Patriots fans. It was nice to see the Eagles win.

I want to read The Hazel Wood. Off to add it to my TBR list. 🙂
