Monday…Waiting For The Sun?

This is where our new plants spent their weekend…inside in the sunroom!  It was below 40° for the past few nights so Den dragged them all inside.  However…one pot on the deck was so heavy we couldn’t lift it so we took Ti’s advice and bagged it.  This week we are back to milder night temps so hopefully we are moving them for the last time.  My once stately Ficus tree is slowly losing leaves…I want to summer it out on the deck but Den is insisting it’s not possible.  Sigh!  He says we can’t get the pot through the door…he is way too protective of those new French doors!

The week end was a chilly one…we had the heat on this morning.  We watched Blue Bloods on Netflix…I never really watched it before but Den and I both have a slight addiction to it now.  The Reagans always solve crimes, they always spar, they always sip Irish Whiskey, Danny always gets really mad at everything but they always have Sunday dinner together every Sunday…no excuses!  Love this show!

We started watching Collateral on Netflix, too, about the seemingly random murder of a pizza delivery man.

We started watching Unforgotten on Masterpiece…another crime solving British mystery.

I am also enjoying Instinct…another crime solving quirky pair of crime solvers…one is an author helping the police find bad guys…and girls…Den is not a fan of this one but I love it.

I like my shows the way I like my books…quirky and mysterious!

Books!

Finally finished Women In Sunlight!  It was lovely!

I am stuck on what to reach for next…it’s always a battle between what I want to read and what I should read…now that I am being more responsible about pub dates…sort of…I should read these…all of these are due soon and all are from the publishers and NetGalley.F546DB2B-C751-4640-ADDD-852F67C8655F

I also have acquired these…from Edelweiss and publishers.  Uh Oh!

So…I am off to walk on my treadmill, try to build up stamina, and decide what we should have for dinner…salad?  We are totally smitten with Trader Joe’s Crunchy Mix Of Stuff…there is a ton of crunching going on with this salad.  Don’t look at the salad date…this is a google picture.

Then…Amy from http://www.amynewnostalgia.com/eat-all-week-chopped-detox-salad/…posted about this salad…everything is food processor chopped…you can add nuts, seeds, dried cranberries, feta cheese, goat cheese.  The dressing is made and stored separately…it looks good to me.  It definitely is a spoony salad…one to eat with a big spoon!  I don’t have purple cabbage, though and that makes it so pretty!

That’s my news…have a great day!

I love Gilly Macmillan’s books, so I’m eyeing I Know You Know. I have Shadow Dancing and LOVE this series.

I also watch (and enjoy) Instinct, but haven’t yet seen last night’s episode on my DVR. Collateral is on my Netflix queue.

Women in Sunlight looks wonderful…I didn’t read Under the Tuscan Sun, but loved the movie.

Enjoy your week…I would adore relaxing in your sunroom, and the plants are beautiful, of course, but I would also want to protect those lovely French doors.

You are right about the doors…the ficus stays in…I didn’t read Under The Tuscan Sun either but I loved this book…you really should read it. Now I want to read all of my new books! I have last night’s instinct to watch, too!

It was 40 when we walked this morning but I think it will be our last cold night until the fall. It’s supposed to get up to 86 by Friday.

I’m reading a book I’m not in the mood for because I feel like I need to. *Sigh* Read Lowcountry Bookshop – Susan is local to me and so nice!

The salads look delicious. I’m looking forward to grocery shopping in NY again. We rarely plant anything before Memorial Day… just too risky. They got over 3″ of snow on Sunday – crazy! Julie Mulhern’s books are fun. I need to get caught up with that series.

Ooh nice room! Looks like a great place to relax and enjoy the plants. 🙂 Collateral I’ve seen on Netflix, but haven’t tried it yet.

Sky in the Deep I just bought today, can’t wait to read that one! And I love the Country Club Murders books, but I’m a little behind- I still have to read book five.

You have so much going on…I don’t know how you read and watch what you do read and watch!
Thank you…we love that room…but all of those plants are going out on the deck…except for that big tree.

    What an imperial looking sunroom!
Can’t believe it’s so cold there, we’ve been having extreme summer heat for weeks now, 30*C and above, flipflops and shorts and all.. I will have to go into my summer hibernation earlier this year, methinks….

With that romaine recall I have avoided salads like the plague. Although I don’t think that mix has romaine in it.

Right now I am starving because the work event that my department hosts did away with gluten free options for lunch. Mostly because it started to rain and they opted for last minute boxed lunches and forgot about us so I had no lunch. I am dying. I took one small bite of turkey which I picked off of a roll and I am reacting to it AND I forgot my inhaler so yes, I feel like I am dying.

Oh no! I am avoiding Romaine, too. I read that it affects women worse than men…who knew? This salad has no lettuce…just tons of chopped purple cabbage, broccoli, carrots etc…you can top it with egg, cheese, chicken…anything…She calls it a detox salad and it keeps without dressing for a few days…

It is really an awesome salad…once you get past all of the chopping! We are ours with a spoon…I am watching Blue Bloods on Netflix…no commercials…I never wanted to watch it and now I love it…esp. Sunday dinner!
