It’s so crisp outside…sometimes I think this delayed spring was worth it. Green things are popping up everywhere…lawns are being cut and everyone is mulching. Thanks to Den’s advance thinking and Edgar…our amazing lawn guy…we are trimmed and mulched and edged and really just having fun planting. We do have a weird area in the front where we took out a huge shrubbery thing. We took it out because my sister Paula said that it was blocking the front view of our house but now we have to decide what to do with the empty space. And our birch tree died and the tree in the way back yard fell over and was removed but that’s Den’s area of expertise and he will deal with the trees later. Right now our planting world consists of planting one pot at a time! Little baby steps of planting…but…the front…just the front where the door is…portico? That’s done! I do need a new door mat…and Den says we need a new light fixture…and that’s my old old wreath. The new one was way too attractive to the robin. Hopefully I can change them out soon! Imagine those windows on each side of the door covered in little postcards. Once those were covered the robin pecked on the window over the door! Then the robin went to Den’s study window. But now we think she is building under the decks again…the way she always did. Her old nests are still there!
I love lobelia…I try to stuff it everywhere! And my beloved basket…I don’t want to throw it away but it’s aging rapidly.
And my beautiful $15.00 Costco fern!
Only 99 more pots to go! Teasing…I am so excited to be so excited about planting. Last year I was so tired and drained that I just couldn’t care that much…sigh!
I am craving these sweet little sandwiches…aren’t they pretty? I wonder if I could make them for dinner?

The Barbara Delinsky…Before And Again…book was wonderful. I loved it. Now I am into these…ooooh…I made a slide show!
Den is playing golf and as soon as he gets home we are going on a plant finding adventure! Make way for more lobelia! Oh…Den and I both got these Allbirds…they are truly the most comfy shoes with perfect fit that I have ever bought. There isn’t any blistering break in time with these. It’s amazing. If you wear a 7 you buy a 7. And…they fit perfectly. I wanted a light color, too, and a slip on. I don’t understand their technology but I love these shoes!

Pimiento Cheese! Now I’ll be craving it…I haven’t had it in ages, but I used to stuff celery sticks with it for the preschool kids. LOL (When my eldest son attended a cooperative preschool, over 50 years ago!).

I love you entry way! I love cucumbers and put them on my sandwiches sometimes but have never had just a cucumber sandwich. I may try it. I don’t like plain Pimiento Cheese but love it with Jalapenos cut up in it. I looked for it at Publix yesterday but they only had plain.

Oh,Vicki, you have to try cucumbers on a sandwich…so good! This sandwich had a recipe for homemade pimento cream cheese that I am going to make today. I looked for premade yesterday and couldn’t find it. I started using fresh raw baby spinach on sandwiches instead of lettuce…I love it!

I don’t think I’d read the book, but I love the orange & white striped bag on the cover of The High Tide Club. I love stripes, especially orange & white and navy & white, and polka dots, especially black & white and navy & white. (Funny what people fell compelled to comment on, is it not?) 😉

I love all comments…I love that bag, too, and I love dots of any kind. I just bought a black and white polka dotted blouse sort of top that I love! Speaking of dots…why are they called polka dots? Isn’t a polka a dance?

June…they don’t but you don’t need half sizes. I sized down and mine are perfect. I think you would love them…they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn!

I used to love tea sandwiches but again, no fun on hard bread. However, I did find a GREAT cracker the other day at Whole Foods. It’s gluten free but full of nuts and seeds and so buttery. I served them with soft cheeses but the gals in my life group used them for hummus and loved them.
Your plants looks nice. Seriously, in our dry, desert climate not much survives. The soil is too hard and we are under water restrictions again so no one here plants anything but desert stuff.

Cucumbers don’t like me but pimiento cheese? We’re best friends, lol. Love your front door – so welcoming. And aren’t birch trees tricky? We’ve had to yank a few because they just didn’t do well in our area. Poor things.
