We actually sat on the deck yesterday…just to feel a tiny bit of sun! As soon as our baby-less pond geese saw us…they came running over! Tumbling, falling, but ready for a bite of something. I tried giving them salad but they really wanted bread. They sit next to our deck and just relax and munch…Den says that sometimes at night they sit under our deck…with the ducks.
I finished this book…OMG…it’s creepy good. Everyone in this book is weirdly creepy…especially the mother/wife. They do creepy things as though these things were normal. That makes them even creepier. Perhaps a better word than creepy is bizarre…outlandish…disturbing? But creepy says it best…this book was a page turner…a creepy page turner but a page turner…nevertheless!
To my delight, surprise and wonderment…just as I was about to start this book…I realized I read it already. I love when that happens! Plus…even better…I loved it…and I remembered that I loved it. So…so far…the only Amy E. Reichart book I don’t love is the casino poker playing one. I am ok with that!
So…I am reading this…and not really loving it…so I have to decide what I want to do about this situation. I loved this author’s first book but this one? Not so much. It’s about a reality show and two sisters and one sister doesn’t come out alive. I am not fond of the characters…at all…they seem too vain…too selfish? Too over the top?
I also just started this one and it’s already so good…relaxing and filled with butter and grilled cheese! I love the Milwaukee references in these books even though I have to text my sister in law about them…first text…what is Sendik’s? Answer? A grocery store.
When I finish “Optimist’s” I want to read this one…sounds kind of yummy!
In the tradition of Judy Blume’s beloved adult novel Summer Sisters and for fans of J. Courtney Sullivan, a tender yet tantalizing debut novel about two friends, the summer night they fell apart, and the scavenger hunt that reunites them decades later—until the clues expose a breathtaking secret that just might shatter them once and for all.
And if I get that one done…I am winding up my week with this one…a teensy bit of magic!
An incredible adventure, with magic woven through every page. The Collectors sweeps readers into a hidden world where wishes are stolen and dreams have a price. Fast-paced, witty, and riveting, this contemporary fantasy adventure begins a two-book series from Jacqueline West, the New York Times–bestselling author of The Books of Elsewhere series. For fans of Serafina and the Black Cloak, The Isle of the Lost, and The Secret Keepers.
I loved all of those books!
Den and kitties…they adore him! They both consider him their personal possession.
So…how is your week starting? I have to walk soon…but it’s a beautiful day today…we have the windows open!
Patty
I have a copy of The Coincidence of Coconut Cake…and probably should read it soon.
I guess I’ll skip The Favorite Sister, as Luckiest Girl Alive was a “pass” for me. Although some readers loved TFS and not Luckiest Girl. Hmm.
I’m not a fan of reality shows…or people who produce them. LOL
I am eager to read Lying in Wait…soon!
Have a great week…

What a creepy cover on the first book… don’t think I’d even want to hold that one! We’re packing up here in FL today and tomorrow. Our plan is to hit the road on Wednesday. I hope it doesn’t rain all the way home. Have a good week, Patty.

I’ve read a lot of great things about The Favorite Sister and thought it sounded odd. It sounds like the cover of Lying in Wait totally suits the book. Your girls know a good guy when they see one!!

They do…and the biggest problem I have with The Favorite Sister is its like a Real Housewives episode. I may not finish it or I may stop and go back later.

My youngest read all of the Seraphina books; she loved them! The Summer List looks good; I’m intrigued by a scavenger hunt.
