Stuff In Jars…And Me!

When I wrote my blog post on Wednesday and I wrote about my Bell Jar Collections I started thinking about them and tracking them throughout my house.  The result is a Bell Jar Slide Show!

Then I started thinking that I love to keep stuff in containers…even when we travel I never unpack my suitcase…ever!  I like to keep similar things in containers, too.  See?

Do I have some deep seated need to be contained…stemming from my childhood?

Did my parents keep me in a container?  Yikes!  I don’t look that happy to be contained!

I even am attracted to food in jars…

And in these compartmentalized containers…

I guess I just like things sort of…hmmm…sort of…contained?  Restrained?  Orderly?

Books!  Books!  Books!

I finished this!  It was awesome…amazing…haunting…terrifying…and one of those books that you just cannot put down.  If I read at night Lucy always wants to sit and nestle in right in front of me and the hand holding my Kindle.  I had to keep gently pushing her head out of my book view until she finally got mad at me and left!

Poor kitty!

One more container thought…we even plant most of our flowers in containers…maybe Den and I both have a container issue!  Den’s back yard marigolds…I relented and we got some orangish ones!  I like them!

Yesterday we had one baby goose in our yard and four parents…out of the blue!

I love containers, too, and once had several Mason jars with various sundries in them. I don’t know where they all went, but I probably got rid of them in one of my numerous moves. Which kind of surprises me, since I hate getting rid of sentimental things.

One of my favorite photos of my granddaughter Fiona is of her sitting in a wicker basket in the laundry room. Adorable, right?

You don’t look that happy in that galvanized tub! It reminds me of one my mother bathed me in when I was little. I’m not sure why she did that. LOL

I also loved The Other Mother…and that expression on Lucy’s face is definitely a perturbed one.

    Have a great weekend.

I’ll be reading The Lost for Words Bookshop soon. Glad you’re liking it!
I aspire to “a place for everything and everything in its place” but I fall short. I love the idea though. How did you do the slide show??? That’s really great!
