I think that I am always thinking about books…what I want to read…what I am actually reading…what I yearn to read and how to read in a more organized manner. I love the “ capture of the book” whether it’s in its arc form or ebook form…I love the emails from NetGalley and Edelweiss telling me I have scored the books I want…I love the emails from publishers asking me if I would consider reading a certain book. I even love Overdrive emails telling me a book is in! I hate those NetGalley rejected notices, though. Phooey when I don’t get the book I want. Oh…and sometimes there are surprise books in the mail…books that just come for no reason! I am really fond of a Simon & Schuster person named Will Rhino! He always asks me to read books! Thank you, Will! I love that name…Will Rhino! Am I weird? Don’t say yes!
So…this week…I should be reading these…fast…the first and last are MG books!
I just finished reading this…heeheehee…does it count as a book? It gave us a new 5 star restaurant to try even though it’s a BYOB and I don’t like wine that much any more. Sigh! Magic…my weakness! And Verbena offers me magic! Den really wants to go ASAP!
I just read about these…
I realized I own these…why did I forget and how long can I use the excuse “Chemo Brain”…
I just borrowed this…I am #191 on 9 copies at one library and #51 of 5 copies at my other library. I wonder which one I will get first…hmmm…
I just read a review about this in the NYT…and I have never even seen it bounced around before…
I desperately want this one…
I am reading both of these. All The Little Lights is really good…young love…that would be Elliot and Catherine…a huge secret…that would be Jupiter…the B&B where Catherine lives…and scary dangerous guests and townspeople. Oh…mean girls, too!
But I really want to read this…right now! The cover alone calls to me! Thank you, Edelweiss…this is my favorite kind of book!
In the most explosive and twisted psychological thriller since The Woman in the Window,a perfect love story leads to the perfect crime.
Things that make me scared: When Charlie cries. Hospitals and lakes. When Ian drinks vodka in the basement. ISIS. When Ian gets angry… That something is really, really wrong with me.
Summary from Edelweiss…
Maddie and Ian’s romance began with a chance encounter at a party overseas; he was serving in the British army and she was a travel writer visiting her best friend, Jo. Now almost two decades later, married with a beautiful son, Charlie, they are living the perfect suburban life in Middle America. But when a camping accident leaves Maddie badly scarred, she begins attending writing therapy, where she gradually reveals her fears about Ian’s PTSD; her concerns for the safety of their young son, Charlie; and the couple’s tangled and tumultuous past with Jo.
From the Balkans to England, Iraq to Manhattan, and finally to an ordinary family home in Kansas, sixteen years of love and fear, adventure and suspicion culminate in The Day of the Killing, when a frantic 911 call summons the police to the scene of a shocking crime.
But what in this beautiful home has gone so terribly bad?
So…these books and so many more are on my mind. I just can’t come up with a schedule I can follow. I get distracted by new books!
Please tell me you over think about books, too!
Please?
Patty
I love acquiring books also! I just checked 3 more out at the library this morning. So little time!!!! I hope you can stop by:

I requested There, There from the library…and I’ve bookmarked Clock Dance, from Anne Tyler on Amazon. I love her books!
I am definitely curious about The Lost for Words Bookshop…I like descriptions that tell me this about the book: “most explosive and twisted psychological thriller since The Woman in the Window, a perfect love story leads to the perfect crime.”
Are the books you didn’t remember you owned tucked away on your Kindle? That happens to me.
Enjoy!

No you are not weird about books, your first intro paragraph describes me perfectly as well, although no actual books come to my doorstep as NZ is not big on publishing and when a new publicity person came to Hachette in NZ I lost out on books there. I’d put The Bookshop of Yesterdays on the back burner if I were you!!

Yes, i also think about books ALL the time!! My biggest problem is not neary enough time to read all the books I want to read so that my TBR list and shelves (an entire bookcase now) just keep growing & growing.
I’d forgotten you live right next door in Kennett Square! I am just over the border in Hockessin. Thanks for the new restaurant tip – Verbena sounds wonderful! A little pricey for us but maybe on a special occasion.
Enjoy your books this week!

They’ve just announced a series adaptation of OUTSIDER, like yesterday!
PS I’ve been commenting on your site regularly in last few weeks but your comment field keeps eating up my comments. I will try today without putting in a website link (that seems to often be the problem with these comment forms that you use!

Dezzy! I am so sorry! I have missed you terribly! How can I fix it? I am not sure! I just briefly watched a few monitors of the original Outsiders yesterday! I had forgotten all about it!

Check if it isn’t sending my comments into your spam folder if you have one. This type of comment form used to eat up comments with WWW website links, so I always put the HTTPS one, but it started eating those up too.

I’m always signed onto Google when I’m blogging. It is just some zitch with this nasty comment form, which means that other people have maybe commented too and you don’t know because the comments get eaten. You can see my comments now only because I don’t put in my website into your comment form.
