We had a fresh lovely sunny weekend without humidity! It was amazing. Today we had to drive back to the Antique Barn to pick up our last white dresser. See Den? See Den run? See Den race into the barn to load the white peely dresser with the pink shiny knobs! Den loves furniture shopping especially when we really don’t need any more furniture! Sigh!
Here they are in the house happy in their new home! I took a close up of the shiny pink knobs! We are taking a break from furniture buying for a while!
After we picked up the dresser we zipped to the pet food store because these two needed food! They get very cranky when they don’t have their faves!
After that we zipped to Weggieman’s for people food. We buy these kinds of things when we are too lazy to make our own! The European sandwich is my fave…it’s the kind we used to get in London at takeaways just before hopping on a train. That was lunch. I am having Chicken Parmesan for dinner and Den is having Fried Chicken. I love the way Weggieman’s has tons of vegetables sliced and ready to roast. I can cut my own but I am lazy this week. I will roast the Brussels Sprouts and Cauliflower Steaks with olive oil, garlic and a dusting of grated Parmisano Reggiano Cheese. Yum!

I did love Lies…I couldn’t stop turning the pages (well, tapping them!). Now I see another book for my list: Gudenkauf’s Before She Was Found, but we have to wait until next year!
The food looks good. Is Wegman’s a supermarket, or is it like Trader Joe’s?

Wegman’s is a massive grocery store. You would love it because there are so many food venues within the store. They are known for their prepared foods. But they have a sushi section, a seafood section, a pizza section, and tons of groceries. They are only around here and Virginia and New York…their prepped foods are amazing. Oh they have Chinese food, too and amazing desserts, breads and cheeses. We get st in the store…it’s huge! They have a pub, too!

Yay for new dressers!
I love Brussels sprouts, especially with bacon but I know that kind of defeats the purpose. I’ve never been in a Wegman’s but Vance says they’re a lot like our Publix. I think Wegman’s has more devoted fans, though.

Publix is a great store…they probably are similar…Wegman’s is just so over the top sometimes. I told Den not to get the fried chicken…it was awful…he hated it…and ended up eating leftover rice. Mine was delicious!

We use to love going to Wegmans in Erie when we went up to the lake! Looking at Upper 90’s and very humid here in Maine the next two days and there is no air conditioning! Will have to stay in the lake. Lots of good books there!

I also chose and received The Bookshop of the Brokenhearted too, so will be interesting to compare! Edelweiss has some great books at the moment. Tasty looking food, nice when you don’t always have to cook it yourself.

It’s really hot here today… heat advisory extended through tomorrow. Awful humidity, too. Love that dresser, especially the pink knobs! I’ve never noticed cauliflower steaks at Wegmans. Will look more closely next time. Hope you and Den and the girls are staying cool today.

Yay for no humidity! We need more days like that, frankly. I was just complaining today lol at the heat, after a few days of cool off it got hot again.
