Merry Christmas Day!

Yesterday was a perfectly delightful peaceful day.  It involved reading, word game playing, talking to family and eating.  Den cooked a tenderloin…and  yummy roasted baby potatoes and we had the perfect Gingerbread Cake from Wegman’s.  I love that Wegman’s is seasonal…certain things are made at certain times.  You can only get this cake at Christmas.  We had icy cold shrimp, too…so yummy!  The inside of this cake is big stripes of gingerbread and whipped cream!

I am almost finished with Lisa Scottoline’s new book.  Again…she lives near me so all of the places she writes about are familiar to me.  It makes these books so much more fun to read.

Today is an even more low key day than yesterday…we don’t have to really do anything and it’s cold enough to want to stay in.  It’s weird how I can be tired from a holiday even though not much was going on during the holiday.  I want to make a simple meatless lasagna for tomorrow because we always crave something Italian after Christmas and Thursday is Pasta Thursday anyway.  I have to get a cat scan tomorrow because I am midway through chemo and Dr. Costello wants to know where we are…I am trying to not be scared and stressed over this.  Trying hard…whew!

So…I am watching reruns of The Great British Baking Show and we started Homecoming on Amazon Prime which seemed really good but Den and I both fell asleep during it.  Sigh!

Possible books up next…such a perfect wife isn’t out until May but it’s taunting me!

Have a restful Wednesday!

Patty

Your Christmas sounds wonderful! I enjoyed mine, too. I can’t wait to get Lisa Scottoline’s newest book…and Such a Perfect Wife is definitely on my list. The titles of books are so hilarious…between wife, girl, perfect, and lies…well, sometimes we can drown in those themes.

Enjoy the lasagna, which sounds very delicious.

The cake looks amazing and delicious!
See, I find Edelweiss more difficult to navigate than NG. Probably because I only use it a couple of times a year?
I hope the scan goes well.
When do you de-Christmas? I’ll probably start on Jan. 2nd. I leave the outdoor lights up longer though. Always sad to see those go.

We had a quiet, low key Christmas too and it was wonderful. That cake looks like more whipped cream than cake which would be too sweet for me.

Your CAT scan is gonna be good – I just know it! It will be our Christmas miracle this year.

I love it when books are set in place familiar to me too.

Oh my that Christmas meal sounds amazing and that gingerbread. Mmm! No not weird to be tired after a holiday even though you didn’t do much. Same here! Took me a day to recover. I have heard Lisa Scottoline is a really good writer. All the best with the cat scan.
