Fickle Me…

I love all the posts that people are writing about their favorite books for 2018.  I so want to write one, too.  But…here’s the truth…every book I read becomes my favorite.      Every book has a lovable or beguiling or bewitching or annoying character that I either love to love or love to not love.  That’s why I am fickle…sigh!  I am a fickle reader.  Here are a few of my favorites…

Den is off to a 7:30 AM eye appointment…I keep asking him why he would do this.  He was up at 5:30 getting ready.  Den is ready for a big breakfast because according to him…we only had salad for dinner instead of the football snacks we should have had.   We had this big salad for dinner last night…it’s from halfbakedharvest and is loaded with yummy stuff.  We made this lemon chicken and orzo on Saturday for dinner…also from halfbakedharvest.  Both easy, both almost Mediterranean and both delicious!

I am reading this…and it’s really good…fast paced…complex…about a woman who keeps accidentally shooting people…but maybe not so accidentally?

It is really cold here today…maybe a hint of snow could happen?  Who knows…we are in a weird weather pattern.

Have a good one…

Patty

I love Lisa Gardner, so Never Tell goes on my list…and I also have to read Someone Knows and The Mother-in-Law.

I don’t love everything, so I guess I’m the opposite of fickle. LOL. I DNFed Sadie, and I know that a lot of people loved it. Not me. Maybe a little too YA for me, even though it wasn’t the usual “boarding school” stuff I hate. I actually finished and enjoyed a book recently set in a boarding school, but the author was Beth Gutcheon. Her books I always love.

    Enjoy your week…stay cozy.

I love Beth Gutcheon’s books, too. I kind of had a feeling that Sadie was not going to be a hit with you. It was a rough one. This Lisa Gardner book is good…lots of scenes are really hard to read but I have to know what is happening. I think you would love The Better Sister, too. That was a good one!

Patty it is so hard for me to pick a favorite too! I’m rubbish at writing reviews. Some people can go on and on so intelligently about a book they read but I just seem to be able to say I loved it, I’m coming to eat at your house, y’all always have such wonderful things to eat!

I think you would like that chicken orzo recipe…everything was on top of the stove and then into the oven to soak up the broth into the orzo…it had kale in it too! And it cooks in a good old cast iron skillet! I love your foods, too!

I know what you mean about every book you read becoming your favorite! The ones on my final list tend to be the ones I’m still thinking about at the end of the year. I saved that lemon chicken and orzo recipe a while ago… glad to hear you enjoyed it. Maybe I’ll add it to the menu this week!

I think doctors/dentists think people of a certain age like early appointments – they always offer them to me. I’m sad I haven’t read any of your favorites from last year. Will Den watch the game tonight? It’s all people are talking about around here.
