Monday…Book Talking…

I love the book I am reading now…it’s about two married couples…one husband dies suddenly and the relationships of the rest of this foursome get very complicated.  Boundaries are overstepped.  I sometimes wonder why the books I love best have the most irritating people in them.  In this one…Lydia…the incredibly irritating widow…literally moves in with the other couple…takes over…scatters her belongings all over their house…and one night even crawls into bed with them!  She is lonely!  Ha!  Lonely?  I keep waiting for them to tell her to go home…to grow up!  I love this book!

I just came back from getting infused with magnesium.  It takes two hours so I only brought my Kindle and I read my book for a solid two hours with very few distractions.  It was wonderful.  I may finish it today.  But I have 7 Murder She Wrote’s to watch, 1 Hallmark Murder Mystery, 1 Vera and later tonight The Bachelor.  I am taking it easy and allowing my body to absorb all this magnesium!  I ate a bag of kale this week, too.  Magnesium is apparently a very important mineral and my once a month chemo is draining me of it.  Yikes!  I also take three magnesium pills a day.  Apparently that’s still not giving me enough magnesium.

New books…from Edelweiss…

New books…from NetGalley…

Off to watch Jessica # 2 and finish my irritating character book.

Yes…sometimes the once a week grows to more. But it’s barely five minutes away so that’s good. And yesterday both of us read for almost the entire two hours. It’s what it is right now. And there are lots of warm smiley faces once I am there.

I also like having irritating characters to vent my anger on…LOL. I can yell at them, berate the enablers, and work out a lot of issues by the end.

Sounds like a book for my stack.

    Enjoy your evening.

I think I’d have to draw a line on her getting into bed with hubby and me. Ha! Do you notice a difference in how you feel a few days out from getting the infusion? Just curious. What an amazing mineral.

I don’t notice a difference…at least I don’t think I do. But magnesium has to stay at a certain number or I can’t get chemo. And the chemo I get messes with electrolytes and magnesium. When I got it yesterday it was with a huge bag of fluids…so guess where I was intermittently for the rest of the day…

The Tessa Hadley novel sounds wonderful… just the type of story I’d enjoy. My sister has MS and a treatment she was receiving just over a year ago seriously depleted her magnesium – that caused all sorts of problems for her. So glad they’re keeping an eye on yours. I never realized how important it is!

i cannot believe that a widow would crawl into bed with another couple. Lonely, or not! I read Tessa Hadley once before. I gave her book The London Train 4 stars but I do not remember one bit of it.

Magnesium, huh? Sounds like a lot of magnesium.

I am going to hop onto Edelweiss today and get me some new reads. I’ve been avoiding it in an attempt to catch up with some review copies but I am only three behind now.

Today, my lunch is dreadful. I got caught up at the outreach dinner last night and then had to take my daughter to rehearsal so late. I didn’t have time to prep a decent lunch.CANNED soup and two clementines. Ugh. Tonight, same thing. My normal high school group meets Sunday nights but they added a special thing tonight so again, no time to prep my lunch as I will be getting home late. PLUS, it’s is pouring here and thunder is expected all day long which will prevent me from walking anywhere to get something.

Oh no! Everyone needs an exciting lunch! Maybe you need to try that meal planning where you make 5 lunches in bento boxes and they are ready when you need them? I have to say I love this book. She’s not an easy writer to read but I love this book! Apparently magnesium is very importent!
