Gateway To The Weekend…

So…we have beautiful snow today…it snowed during the night so we woke up to snow, slippery roads and two hour school delays.  This was the kind of morning that cried out for eggs and sourdough toast.  Yum!  Fig jam for the toast and freshly brewed hazelnut coffee.  Thank you, Den.  No one was injured during the night…thank you, Roxie!  We think we are staying in today without a plan.  We have a ton of TV to catch up on.

I just finished this book and while I was confused by it at first…it was the kind of book that just got better and better.  The narrator is Jane Harris and she is a total manipulative narcissist who seems to have a vendetta against everyone.  Her own family is at the top of this list.  She is ruthless, conniving, dishonest.  I could not put this book down!  I did not realize until I read the last page that this author wrote The Best Day Ever…the red book that I also could not put down.  This book was so good.  This author is simply brilliant in the way she can portray these horrible characters.  I loved every word!

Right now I am reading both of these…they are so different I can manage them…

We have not had Pasta Thursday yet!  I made a cheesy broccoli soup the other day so we had it for lunch yesterday and then we weren’t hungry for dinner.  So now we are having Pasta Friday!   My almost homemade chunky sauce…it’s filled with ground turkey and local Kennett Square mushrooms.  We love this sauce with linguini.

I am off of the blog until Monday!  Have a great weekend!

Yum! Love the look of that sauce…and I also loved Best Day Ever. Now I must put the newest one on my list.

Have a great weekend! I have a hair styling appointment…and I’ll be going to the accountant to sign my tax documents afterwards.

Hope you’re having a wonderful, cozy weekend! Did it stop snowing? My daughters in NYC got snow, too, and the rest of my family upstate is looking at a winter storm tonight. Glad to be out of it all in Florida, lol. Your sauce looks amazing! We’re having my FIL over for dinner tonight and grilling pork tenderloins. I was planning to make a buttermilk pie, but when I poured the buttermilk in at the end, I noticed it was spoiled – yuck! Had to throw the whole thing away. My husband is at the store now picking out a different dessert 😦

My sauce is one bottle of La Victoria from Costco mixed with one big can of crushed tomatoes or tomato sauce…whatever I have. I sautéed a little bit of onion and garlic and toss in parsley and a teaspoon of sugar. It works every time! We just started to get snow. Sorry about the chunky buttermilk. But you have WF close by to save the day!
