Den was so excited last night…today was going to be his first golf game of the season. He has some kind of practice thing set up in the sunroom…he practices putting…he was getting his golf outfit ready…but…the weather is awful…windy, rainy, dark and dreary…not a pretty sunny springlike golf day. So he cancelled but his friends are still playing. I can’t imagine this because it seems to be getting darker and darker outside but…the game went on without Den. It’s ok to be a fair weather golfer…that was my advice to Den!
I finished this late last night…I am not quite sure how I feel about it…it’s a long sad family drama…complicated characters and sad situations…everyone is misunderstood and lost and they don’t know how to get themselves back on the right track. It was really good but I was happy to finish it. I read long into the night last night. Then I started another book because I couldn’t sleep.
I started this… it’s one of my favorite authors…and I like it so far. I shouldn’t be reading it yet but I kind of need it now…
Next up…to get me through March Madness…these are both from Edelweiss and sound so good to me!
So…I am not sure what to expect from this weekend…it’s supposed to be really cold tomorrow but nice on Sunday. The two geese who are always on the pond seem to have nested…we see them in the street in front of our house and walking up to our neighbor’s barn. And then walking back down again. And yelling at everyone!
I found a new puzzle page…actually an app called Puzzle Page…that can be played on my iPad…it changes daily and has interesting puzzles! Thirty minutes a day will help memory! And since Chemo Brain is a real thing…I play it religiously! My faves are the word searches and the crosswords…I hate Soduko!
I think Den and I are making this salad for dinner…I am so hungry for the Salmon Patties that my dad and now my brother make. The salad is from the Kitchn, the chicken goat cheese orzo one pan dish is from halfbakedharvest and I would love to try the sourdough focaccia bread from AlexandraCooks. Maybe?
Have an awesome weekend! I will be back Monday with more new books!
Patty
Oh, c’mon! Salad!
And i think the geese part is funny. My daughter seems to enjoy crosswords, i’m going to buy her a small booklet and see what happens.

Yep! Another yummy salad. Salmon patties are a Lenten thing in my family and my dad made the best ones! The geese will chase us, too! All in good goosey fun!

i say Den avoided getting really sick by skipping the golf date. Those recipes look good. I don’t think I’m smart enough for crossword puzzles and I’m not a Soduku fan. And crazy geese. The ones we get around here are from Canada; they’re not afraid of ppl.

That’s how our geese are…I really want to try that one pan chicken and orzo one…I really only love the word finds on that page…the crosswords are not that hard and sort of solvable!

I saved that chicken/goat cheese/orzo dish, too… looks so good! My sister was supposed to drive to VT today, but we have a winter storm warning at home in NY. She postponed the trip until tomorrow. Glad Den skipped the gold game. It’s just miserable to play in yucky weather! Have a great weekend, Patty 🙂

Oh, poor Den – he needs a fun day out! My dad played golf in any weather but I never understood how it was fun when it was ugly outside.
I think our geese are nesting too. Hopefully we’ll see babies this year.

We only ever have two who nest…they rule the pond!

I know…Poor Den…but he hates playing in bad weather and it was bad.

I’d be a fair-weather golfer. Hope he gets a lesson in soon. I’ll be getting a print copy of the Jane Green book. It sounds good. I’m off to look for the puzzle app!

Wow, as you know, I was really unplugged yesterday! Looks like you had a varied day, with lots of interesting things to do and read. I love Jane Green’s books, too, so I bookmarked it…and also Heather Gudenkauf’s book.
Interesting geese!
I just finished reading Her One Mistake last night around 1:30 a.m.! My review is up. Did you find you couldn’t say a lot without revealing too much? It was a book that definitely kept me reading…and then off social media, too.

Yes…that one was a tricky review to write. I guess I am just not used to you being unplugged!

Oh Den is so wise not going out in that kind of weather. Glad you are reading the Jane Green novel early. If you like it then it will certainly go on my watch list to read.

Lol, I hate Sudoko too, numbers are not my thing!
I’ve liked Gudenkaufs other novels though they can be a little ‘Lifetime movie’, I’ll add this one to my Wishlist.

When I first opened your post I was like, what is that green thing in the middle of the page? Haha.
It’s been nice here but rain is coming back for tomorrow. So they say. Cross your fingers that my daughter stays well. She has her wisdom tooth extraction scheduled for Friday and all her classmates were sick on that weekend theatre trip they had.
