A Tiny Little Rant…

I seriously HATE bringing this up again but my cat scan is tomorrow.  It’s a minor blip in my life…I hate going…I hate drinking that drink…I hate going…did I mention that already?  I really hate the entire process because no matter how good I feel this terrifying machine can find bad things and I don’t want it to find bad things.  Ok…that was my rant…I am over it.  I think.

Books…

I finished my lovely Jane Green…it was downright yummy.

I started these…Murder Lo Mein is the second in this series.  I loved the first one.  Lana Lee is a quirky tongue in cheek Nancy Drewish crime solver.  These books are always fun!  I guess I like Murder in my titles this week plus I wanted some light fun cozies.

Into The Past…

When I was a little tiny girl my dad would take us to this really cool place called Idora Park…we would play games in something called The Penny Arcade.  We would eat foot long hot dogs and Isaly’s ice cream cones with Neapolitan Ice Cream…Trader Joe’s is rumored to have Neopolitan Ice Cream soon…I digress…sorry.  We would ride the rides but my favorite was always the famed Idora Park Merry Go Round.  I recently chatted with a dear friend and former next door neighbor from McDonald, Ohio and her husband did a painting of the merry go round.  It is so beautiful and brought back that beloved merry go round to me!  Thank you, Karen!  Painted by her husband Marty Cohol.

I know I have mentioned this before in a long ago blog post but this merry go round is happily ensconced in NYC!  Isn’t that amazing?  The merry go round/carousel was carved in 1922 and is in Brooklyn!  Right now!

Yummy foods…

I must make this salad from halfbakedharvest.  And I made this Macaroni and Cheese from simplyrecipes.  There is no flour in it…only cream cheese and milk and sharp cheddar…it’s our new favorite Macaroni and Cheese.  Simple, cheesy and creamy…you can put it in the oven or just do it on the stove!  Yum!

Happy Wednesday!

Patty

You are entitled to a little rant…or even a big one. Just enough to get you through the hard bits.

I can’t wait to read the new Jane Green, but I’ll have to wait for the release date, as I have never been approved for her books on NetGalley. I’m offended about that. LOL. Maybe I’ll try again, though.

That mac and cheese looks beyond yummy…and I, too, love Merry Go-Rounds.

    Enjoy your day!

Thank you! I think my Jane Green came from Edelweiss…which I still think you should try. I can’t ever get approved for anything Berkley on NetGalley…I wrote Berkley a teeny little rant but they just ignore me!

I don’t blame you on the CAT scan – it’s got to be nerve-wracking. I’ll be there with you and spirit and am sure it will all be good.

    Your friend’s painting is amazing!

I love his painting, too…those are the same carousel horses I rode! Thank you…the closer I get to the scan the worse I get but I am ok. I used to freak out so much with scans that they would put a lead suit on Den and he would come in with
me. But I am so much better now…sort of…

Rant away about the CAT scan, especially if it makes you feel better. I’ll be thinking of you tomorrow. Glad to know that mac and cheese recipe is good… it caught my eye the other day, too. I need to give Jane Green a try… which one is your favorite?

As everyone has said rant as much as you need. Totally entitled and I’d be exactly the same. Like your little way around Berkley publishing – yes Edelweiss sometimes is easier. I’ll buy the Jane Green book or read via the library. Isn’t that merry go round utterly gorgeous.

Rant away. We’re here to offer shoulders of support when you need it, Patty.
That salad looks really good. I love how she styled it also with those blue boards making the food pop. Neopaliton Ice Cream was a classic flavor in my parents’ house growing up, along with Rocky Road, and Jamoca Almond Fudge.
