Watching And Reading…

Watching…

I am trying out a seven day free trial from Amazon Prime for britbox TV.  I have been watching Hercule Poirot…I love him…Miss Marple…I love her…and today I am watching Queens Of Mystery.  Queens involves three mystery authors and the “perennially single” detective that they raised.  So far I am finding it very entertaining.  I love these British shows.

Reading…

Although I am reading other books intensely I picked up this one and now can’t put it down…or rather I can but I don’t want to…I think it takes place in the 60’s.  That era where women drank and smoked while they were pregnant.  That era of deviled eggs and clam dip…that era of nicknames like Choo and Bizzy and Tindy…was there ever an era with nicknames like that?  Tab was in that era, too.  The drink.  It involves a scandal which is lovely to my ears and cousins Choo and Bizzy who are deemed to be just a tad too close.  I love the writing because it’s a nice relaxed pace!

Doing…

Den spent most of yesterday setting up the sunny side of the deck…planters are ready…everything is fresh and clean!  Today he is paying the price with sore bones and an achy body.  We keep all of this furniture in the basement and it has to be carried up all of the deck stairs…but I can’t wait to get flowers!  The rule in Pennsylvania is that it’s safe to plant after Mother’s Day…so we wait!  He set up the shady deck, too…the shady deck is perfect for afternoon iced tea and reading!   Green pillows are safely stored in the deck bins!

Have an awesome Tuesday…I get to go to the doctor this afternoon to see if my perp inhibitors are working so I have some mild stress today!

Patty

I do love your deck, both the sunny and the shady sides. Hauling stuff up from the basement sounds so exhausting, though!

But then you get to enjoy everything for a few months…right? Are the storms over?

I like the look of Twisted Family Values. I’m currently loving (and almost finished with) My Lovely Wife. Who knew? I wasn’t sure I would like it.

    Enjoy your day.

Keep us posted on the PERP stuff. Hope it’s doing what it’s supposed to do.

Shady deck with iced tea! Love that picture. I need to clean off our patio stuff. it’s a real mess because the bird like to do their business all over everything even though it’s a covered patio, they sit on the furniture and do it. I love birds but these ones are little trouble makers. BUT, I thought I heard a rattlesnake last night. I have to investigate.

OMG! A rattlesnake? I hope it’s doing what it’s supposed to do, too! Den has formulated the perfect pitcher of iced tea. He makes it nearly every day. Sorry about the bird mess…that can be irritating…is their something you can hang or put there to try to keep them away? An owl?

Ah those decks are just amazing, what lovely spots. I like British TV too but not being a mystery viewer or reader much, not those shows. Your book sounds like its fun and all the best with the Dr. visit.

Your outdoor pictures are so pretty… such a lovely and inviting area. Where we are in NY, Memorial Day is traditional flower time. We’ve done it earlier, but have been sorry. I still remember about ten years ago when we had a Mother’s Day snowstorm, lol. Your new book sounds wonderful. What one more, right? Hope your appointment went well and those perps are doing their thing.

Your decks are so inviting – especially the shaded one (I take a med where I can’t be in direct sunlight). We have to wait until Memorial Day to plant but I might try it before – at least a pot or two. Glad the perps are doing what they should!!

OMGosh, you just reminded me that Mother’s Day weekend is when the cherry farms open up. We totally forgot about it last year; hopefully we’ll go this year. And that’s an interesting rule about plants and Pennsylvania. Is it because of the weather?

Yeah…they probably are around here…the cookies…I was lazy and Amazon makes everything so easy! Plus with a certain card at Amazon you get 5% back at Amazon and Whole Foods…I already have $60.00 in credit at Amazon! I think the Mother’s Day Rule is an old farmer’s rule…you are safe from frost after that day!
