Just Another Not Manic Monday…

It’s chilly here!  It’s in the 80’s one day and we turn on the AC…then really chill in the morning and we turn on the heat!  Spring can be very confusing!  Den wants to break the Pennsylvania Mother’s Day Rule for flower planting but I am not so sure that we should…

Reading…

OMG…this book is so good.  It’s clever, funny, fast moving and adventurous.  Amy is a school librarian and mom of two…a snarky 15 year old daughter who knows everything and a 10 year old son who is brilliant.  Amy’s husband left them and ran away to Hong Kong for three years.  He has returned and wants to “help” again.  I found myself reading paragraphs aloud to Den last night…because this book is so cleverly written…here is a sample…here are Amy’s thoughts about her house…

”My house makes it so I never, ever have any extra money. If my house starts to notice I have been squirreling away a hundred dollars here or there to try to get my kids to a national park for a week, the house breaks something.  I think it has abandonment issues.”

I am in love with this book…so far!

So popping onto my Oasis this week are these from NetGalley…

And these from Edelweiss…

Off to prep for the day and try to stay warm!

I enjoyed another book by Kelly Harms so I grabbed ‘Overdue Life’ from amazon first reads (I think) when it was offered. Hope we both love it!

Overdue Life sounds like so much fun! I know what you mean about the flowers… my mother decided to take a chance and put out some handing baskets over the weekend, but she still won’t plant anything in the ground. Happy Monday!

I always thought the same about the house or car.
You’ve the same wx we have , had the AC on this weekend, then turned heat on last night. I’d love to have the ventless gas fireplace installed here in the front room, the warmth would have been so nice yesterday. Sunshine today and heading back up into the 80s this week with more rain about Thursday. 😕

We’re done with spring and have moved on to summer but it was definitely cold while we were in Virginia last week.

Now I want to read The Overdue Life of Amy Byler.

I love that quote about a house, and I think it’s true. My house wants all my money too, and gets jealous if I have extra lol.

I’ve got the Night Before preordered and can’t wait to read it!

I just saw The Overdue Life…. on Audible and wondered about it, now I have put it in my wish list as most likely it will be good in that format.

I have this on my TBR. We start out cool in the house, about 64°, and then maybe it’ll warm up to 70’s, depending on the weather outside. Today is a little muggy and grey skies.

It’s the same here, we haven’t use heating for a month because it was almost summerish, and then this weekend hit us with winterish temps and rain, and my freakin’ cat Snezhana decided to give birth to her kids just now of all the times 🙂 Need some black kittehs? 🙂

Currently the lil’ black rats (there is three of them) have no eyes at all as they haven’t opened them up yet 🙂 Snezhana herself looks like Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon – big black ears and huge green eyes. She even used to hiccup all the time like him because when she came to us years ago she did not know how to eat properly and was swallowing without chewing (Afraid that she won’t have food again) so she would later on go around the yard throwing up and hiccuping 🙂 We solved that six months later, but she still likes to fart a lot when she’s happy to see you 🙂
