Oh Me Oh My…

I am a bit under the weather today…it’s pretty much just nausea from taking the Pills that I have to take twice a day. I saw my oncologist last week and he says that everything is ok…according to blood tests but that I have to have another cat scan to make sure and then see him in 6 weeks. If the cat scan is good than I don’t have to see him for 3 months. I love my Dr. Costello like you wouldn’t believe but if I ever got on a 3 month schedule I might cry…even more than I do. I don’t even like talking about how I am because of my fear of not being ok. He also explained that the Pills are another treatment…like with chemo when you end it you get stronger but with the Pills the side effects might take months to get used to. Sigh! They actually work to alter any bed cells to good ones…scary! Right?

I have pills for nausea but I need a home remedy! Den made me Sweet Peppermint Tea And Crackers this morning and that helped today. And we are getting a really good chicken soup for lunch today. I crave soups and teas. I can’t cook. Looking at parts of uncooked food is not a good thing for my tummy. I have to teach Den how to make a great chicken soup. Maybe tomorrow Den and I will tackle Ina Garten’s Chicken Soup. I am hopeful. Sort of. Sigh!

Enough of that stuff…

Books!

I have no clear thoughts about what I am going to read this week. Really…I finished this last night…it was good.

Perhaps one of these?

But anything I really really really want to read isn’t out until the end of August. I am trying to wait. Sigh!

Have a great Monday. I am watching Den clean and as soon as I am unnauseous I will dust.

I hope you feel better! Nausea is so hard to deal with. This is a really simple remedy, but have you tried sucking on ice chips? The ice has to be chipped up to really work. Also sometimes a little Coke or ginger ale poured over the ice helps. ♥️

Ah yuck to nausea, hope Den can master that chicken soup. Making big eyes at the Sarah Jio book and Kristin Hamel book looks promising, last one I think not for me. What are you waiting for in books at end of August?

Not quite the same but I suffered all day vomiting/nausea for the entire lengths of all four of my pregnancies. You do actually become used to it, and sort of work around it. I found chewing gum (not bubble gum) helped for 2 of the pregnancies, it helped with the smell triggers too. It might be worth a shot.

Ina Garten always makes some hearty meals… and that ginger haired billionare lady from Texas, what is her name? I’ve stuffed some smoked tofu and spinach in puff pastry today for lunch and now I’m sipping on white ice tea with lemon and honey and mashed raspberries in it from my own bush.

With my recent stomach issue, I found that the ginger mints from Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, after a meal or before one if you are queasy really help. They taste good too and for me, they tend to help my digestion too.
