HPN!

Have a wonder filled year everyone! I want to cherish every single day…Den and I don’t really make resolutions…we just try to try harder…except that this year we want to eat as clean as we can…Roxie and Lucy are joining in our quest to eat clean!

Cheers! This is my totally organic morning drink…including the pickles…lol…I think!

We are eating foods today that will foster health, wellness and prosperity! I am so superstitious about that…my mom and dad always made massive pork roasts, mashed potatoes and sauerkraut…a hard and fast tradition.

I just did not want to start the year laden with meat…so…we are having an Italian dish called…Lentils With Sausages! Ta Da! This recipe is from Epicurious and the sausages are not processed…but freshly made. The lentils stand for little coins!

I have stuff ready to make either one of these…potstickers…and sautéed dinosaur kale?

Chinese long noodles with cabbage?

Both foods eaten today bring a prosperous year…I am not at all superstitious…am I?

And just to be on the safe side…I have a black eyed pea salad at the ready! This one is from a blog called Tomatoes On The Vine…I found fresh organic black eyed peas at Whole Foods yesterday.

My first book of the year is waiting for me…

Happy Day!

Oh…and what a coincidence…next door to Whole Foods is a little shop that sells Pandora everything…I actually got my New Year’s Charm! See! Too many open spaces…sigh! I have gone from never wanting one of these things to being obsessive about getting charms that tell my story!

I wasn't aware of the pork tradition until just this year I usually make these dumplings but have not made them for the past three years because of the gluten thing. I made them today with GF flour which was an absolute pain to work with. I gave up on forming them after they all fell apart but I cooked the ones I had. The taste was the same but the texture. Ugh. No more dumplings.

But our Chinese food from last night was so yummy. So, I got my fix.

Wow, lots of tempting foods. I like lentils.

The bracelet is lovely…I remember a few years ago when creating bracelets with Italian charms was the thing…and I had four of them. And bought new charms every time I went to the mall…LOL. I don't see those anymore.

I'll have to check out the Pandora.

We used to have black eyed peas every New Year Day when I was a kid. This year I ended up with an eclectic meal made to fulfill my college kids' requests. LOL. Salmon, pork ribs, spaghetti carbonara, chocolate fondue. But I did throw in some veggies and we dipped fruit into the chocolate…And I have been going to the gym a lot…

Your dishes do look healthy and yummy too. I'm ready to tone down my diet now.
