Here I Am!

Blogging…

I think my blogging is going to be sort of “straggly” during chemo…I have amazing amounts of energy on certain days and then I am in a total slump on the third and fourth days. I am just so tired. My oncologist says that you function at 75% on the bad days. Plus no real appetite. That one is hard for Den who has that “feed me” gene. Sigh! Please know I still read everyone’s blogs and comment when I can!

Hats!

I have a huge number of hats to wear on my outings. My sister just keeps knitting them…one after another. Friends send them. Den buys them…the hats are fun and keep my fuzzy head warm!

My Bronco hat from Den…the first hat he bought me!

Fun!

Today after treatment we went to get wreaths! They are beautiful! It was almost like a normal day!

Doctors!

Have I ever said that I love my doctors! My oncologist is literally the best in his field. I see him before every treatment and he and Den and I talk. He doesn’t scare me so much any more! He tells me stories of past patients and is so encouraging. I don’t cry so much when we chat any more!

Finally…books!

Loved loved loved this one.

Lukewarm on this one.

Now reading and loving this one…she wrote Lacy Eye.

Hugs,

Patty

I also loved Vinegar Girl. The daughters in Tyler's books are often in the role of taking care of their fathers and others in the family, and it irritates me that they are so “used” by family. But I enjoyed the character of Kate and how she dealt with it all.

I liked Lacy Eye, so I'm eager to read this new book by Treadway.

Love your hat! I'm glad your doctor is good at talking and sharing. Feeling comfortable with your doctor is so important. Hang in there!

I'm so glad you've developed a comfortable relationship with your doctor… that makes such a difference! And hooray for wreaths! I'm planning to get most of the decorating (except for the tree) done tomorrow . We are behind this year.

I usually enjoy Anne Tyler's novel, so will add Vinegar Hill to my list!

I am thankful for that, too. That hospital stay just zapped my strength again. It's too cold to walk outside. And we can't reclaim the basement from the workers until tomorrow…when I get my treadmill back. I try to just work my life one day at a time…but it's hard.

I'm glad you got your wreaths. I know how you love them so. Christmas is different this year, isn't it? For you, for me, for many I suspect. There are so many wonderful things about this time of year though. I try to hang onto them. I know you are trying too.

Yes…it is very different…but we will still cherish it. Something's that we always do we are not going to do…but it will be ok…and. It will be good for us to see a different side of this holiday we love so much!

Very proud of you, & very happy to see each teensy bit of progress. Excellent! Your doctor & your entire medical team sound exceptional! And Den….well, he's just a superstar! Keep up the good work, & we will keep up the prayers. Love you!
