I did not pick up my iPad yesterday! We had to be somewhere at noon…and after that decided to go to lunch at one of our favorite places…
It sounds totally awful but we always get the octopus there…as a starter. Den had a Reuben sandwich…massive…I had French Onion Soup…awesome…but we were too full to have their lemon meringue pie which is so amazing I can’t even begin to describe it. Doesn’t the Octopus tentacle look frightening? I can’t believe I eat octopus!
When we got home I was exhausted…the road is a windy one and I needed to take a Dramamine which totally zapped me. I walked into our house, showered, sat in my comfy chair and immediately fell asleep!
After that I just read…I just didn’t feel like looking at my iPad…I just wanted to read!
The Neighbors is totally absorbing…the premise is that the one person you have spent your life avoiding has just moved in next door. And The Hazelwood? It just continues to be amazing.
It is raining and drizzly and foggy and we have flood warnings for all of the little creeks and streams and baby rivers that are all over our part of Pennsylvania. It’s the kind of day that makes me want to stay in…Den and Lucy went out because Lucy needed fluids and her meds…I did mention that my sweet Lucy has high blood pressure? A little purple pill a day keeps her healthy and another half pill keeps her calm. Sigh! Roxie sort of raises her blood pressure but there isn’t much we can do about that. As Lucy calmly sleeps Roxie somersaults right onto her…and everyone is all unsettled and hissy and growly! They then settle down and it starts all over again.
This is just after a somersault! Roxie looks satisfied…Lucy looks exhausted.
So…this week has been one of being iced in…reading while the Olympics are on in the background…watching Big Brother…that’s a total trip…working out…and really not much more…Den and I have both been craving veggie sandwiches…we make them with whole grain bread smeared with either cream cheese or hummus or both…piled high with greens and cucumber slices and shaved carrot slices and avocado slices…so good! I think we have had them every day this week! I pile the stuff on ours so that they are almost impossible to eat but they are so delicious!
Do you get into a mood where you just want to eat one thing for a while or is this just me?
I am off until Monday!
Patty
I do love the look of those veggie sandwiches…octopus, not so much.
Enjoy your weekend!

Ooh…I want to read The Neighbors…while I eat that food!
I got notice for this post, so should be okay, now.
It was a rough week. Snow every day, so shoveling and blowing. It’s all Me, when Bill is on the road. HUGS!

The Four Dogs tavern looks like an English pub! I noticed The Neighbors when it first came out but never got around to reading it.

It does…doesn’t it…but tons of places here look like old English buildings.

I get in those food moods – but it’s usually not something good-for-me like that sandwich!

I just can’t say enough about that sandwich. It tastes decadent…even though it’s basically a salad.

I don’t think I could eat octopus but I’d be all over that French onion soup. The sandwiches look yummy too.
It was drizzly and dreary here all day and this week is supposed to be wet, wet, wet. I hope I’ll be able to get out some – I hate being cooped up inside!

We had rain all day long! And more rain is in our future…it’s funny how our weather sort of goes along the same path.

Mmm! I used to make veggie sandwiches. I want some now! I love the name of that tavern and how you can get tako there; it looks delicious. That’s so cool. Amazing how a pet’s health is just like human’s. I have my physical Monday; I need to tell her about my jacked up arm.

So sorry about your arm…I don’t know what it is about veggie sandwiches…to me they are addictive!

The sandwich looks delicious… not so sure about the octopus though! 😉
Your books sound good! Will look for your thoughts on The Neighbor.
We’re having record heat down here (no complaints!) while they’re removing snow from our roof up north. My sister is coming to visit this weekend… she’s had enough snow & cold.
Happy Sunday!

That veggie sandwich looks amazing! I think I’ll make it for lunch today. Not the octopus, though, although I do like squid/calamari. Do they taste similar?
