Relaxing On Wednesday…

Finally…finally…this is the first day of this week when I don’t have to get up, get dressed and go anywhere.  Monday was manic…yesterday?  We spent most of yesterday in an area about 60 minutes away from here looking at house plans…we don’t know what we are doing…but we have always wanted a smaller more custom house that really lets us use the rooms that we really use.  Moving away…building again…not sure at all.  But we still feel a tiny flicker of discontent…I think. We always thought we might end up in a small town but that’s not really working for us…every small town we love puts us even farther away from family.  So…we are just looking and thinking and thinking and looking.  I think!

Den is playing golf this morning.  It is 30 degrees here!  He has already sent me about 55 photos of how he looks when he is freezing.

Books!

I am still reading my hefty engrossing excellent Elizabeth George book…if you know this author and her many books you know that they go on and on and just when you think nothing is happening…something happens!  These books are all about solving murders and the interaction between elegant sleek Inspector Lynley and his kind of not pulled together yet very clever  Sargeant…Barbara Havers.  He is a gentleman.  She is not a lady.  Her idea of breakfast is pop tarts and cheap tea.  She smokes…he frowns…it’s a long term quite entertaining relationship.  He frowns pretty much at everything she does so she apologizes profusely and continues.  I hope to finish this book today.

A very unique children’s book came my way!  It is disguised as a bedtime book and promises to put your child to sleep!  I love this promise.  It has awesome illustrations.

I am in the midst of my MG book…it has everything it needs to keep a reader’s attention…a competition…Double Dutch…of course…and a main character with attitude!

Something really bad happened to my front tooth yesterday…so bad I am totally freaking out!  After wearing braces twice and sleeping with a retainer for most of my life…there is a space between my front teeth!  I obsessively stare at my teeth daily…it’s the braces twice thing…so I don’t know how this happened!  My front teeth felt funny…I could feel a space…all of a sudden!  I can’t get to the dentist/orthodontist fast enough!  Sigh!  Until then I am not smiling or laughing and I am rarely talking.  You can guess who loves this!

Have a great day…I hope yours is much better than my gap toothed day…double sigh!

I have never read Elizabeth George, but I am curious.

I used to love driving around and looking at houses….and then, after I bought my house in the foothills and lived in it for 13 years…I came to a place where I am so done with houses. LOL

    The upkeep, etc.

Enjoy your day at home with no appointments!

You don’t want to move too far from your fabulous doctors! That is so weird about your front teeth – how could that happen all of a sudden?

Den is brave to golf in the cold! It was cold here this morning but is supposed to be beautiful before the day’s out.

Oh well – interesting to muse over possibilities, and you never know! Laughed at the cold golf photos. It always makes a book fun when two characters in a book hit off one another in a series. I love seeing how they develop.

We seem to be considering different real estate options, too. Sell the big house at home/get a condo there? Sell the tiny FL house and get something bigger since we’re going to spend the bulk of our time here? Sigh… it never ends.

That is so weird about your teeth!! How in the world does that happen? Hope you get an appointment soon.

Thank goodness we aren’t the only ones going through this dilemma! It’s ongoing for us…we don’t want two houses that are far apart from each other and eventually this house will need new windows, etc…we are always talking about what to do…we have thought about the condo thing, too, and we have beautiful beaches just a few hours away…have you heard of Fenwick Island? Bethany Beach? Our discussions continue.

I have Elizabeth George on my TBR. I moved it up for this year. Oh no, what happened to your front teeth? How can that happen especially when you wear a retainer every night? I love the space of your house but I understand how much trouble it is to look and to move. There isn’t a small town near any of your families?

Good luck with the house plans, whichever way you decide to go! It can be exhilarating and frustrating at the same time. 🙂 The book looks good, I like it when the protagonists are mismatched
