We have just entered into days and days of really hot weather. The weatherman says mid 90’s that will feel like triple digits. Yikes! Plus East Coast weather is humid…so humid that being outside is unbearable. Of course we did not get up and moving early enough to walk outside.
Lucy had fluids today…so that cut into our morning. Roxie stresses when Lucy is gone and they cuddle when Lucy comes home. In a few minutes they will be fighting…like cats and…well…like cats and cats!
Girl kitties behave like mean girls in high school…at least my two do!
Finished and loved this. The relationship between Mary Russell and Sherlock is what made this book for me.
Now I am reading this…I love it! It’s sort of like watching reality TV but not really…so if you don’t like reality TV you will still enjoy this book. There are lots of references that made me feel as though this book’s events just happened yesterday. It’s got a fast fun pace. It’s about three friends who are kind of going through some life changes…Emily…a life style expert…Miriam…an attorney…and Karolina…ex model and wife of a hopeful presidential candidate who has been floored by her own scandal. Do you rember the book and movie…The Devil Wears Prada? This book was written by the same author. I am all in for fast light fun reading this weekend…books where I don’t have to reread anything and I can fast pace them ‘til the end. This and the book next to it are both that kind of book!
If I can manage both of these this weekend this one is up next…from St. Martin’s Press. In this heat I was sold by the words Charleston and sultry…
In the sultry streets of Charleston, one family, ruled by its powerful, take-no-prisoners sons, has risen to the top. But a merciless enemy is out to destroy them…and everyone they hold close…
Oh boy!
We won’t be outside much this week end…there are no Marvel movies to see until next week when Ant Man premiers! I can’t wait! Doesn’t having Michael Douglas in this movie legitimize it somewhat? Thank you for saying yes! I have quirky movie taste…
I shopped a bit this week but Nordstrom’s is having HUGE sales. I bought stuff for me and for Den…Den loves Tommy Bahamas tees and there is one that is called a flip shirt. I had no clue what that meant until we realized it’s reversible! And half the original price!
For me…I love these comfy toss on shirts plus I want a kimono! I really want a kimono! These are all Free People tops. I can’t decide which one! I think I want a cool crisp white one…or maybe the green? But then what about black? Sigh!
Foods over the weekend…it’s too hot to think about anything…but watermelon and salads…we roasted corn in the oven and it was really good!
WordPress is acting weird again. It shows my photos as GONE and then when I put them on again I have doubles! What’s that all about, WP?
Have a great weekend!
Patty
Ooh, yummy food!
We will have triple digits this weekend, but we don’t have humidity…so I guess we’re kind of even in hot and sweaty.
I did love The Devil Wears Prada…and not some of the author’s other books. Maybe I would like this one.
Broken Promise looks good…and I’ll be skipping Ant Man. LOL
I do love the shirts.
Enjoy the weekend!

We’re expecting triple-digit heat indexes, too… actual temps may even hit 100 Sunday. All sorts of warnings have been issued and now they’re saying that with the humidity, it will be one of the hottest days EVER! Think I’ll stay indoors with a book.
Pretty tops. I’d have a hard time choosing, too!

It was already 86 when we woke up this morning. I think I will get a lot of reading in this weekend!

It’s hot and humid here – you don’t want to see me after my run because it’s not pretty.
I love Tommy Bahama clothes too.

Tommy Bahama has always been Den’s go to for everything. I just bought him Tommy jeans shorts that he loves. We are now on a jeans quest for him…and it’s maddening!

Weird about the pics issue on WP. I haven’t had that. We’re hot and humid along Lake Michigan too. TG for AC. I went shopping with my sister yesterday. Wasn’t looking for anything and came home with two new tops! Love when that happens. I love Nordstrom sales.

I don’t know if my WP issues are because of my iPad or not…but now when a photo disappears I have to go to the preview and check…one more step I don’t need!

I love that your cats snuggle in when Lucy comes back from receiving her fluids. Hmm so you are the book influencer!! I went into the bookshop yesterday to buy a birthday card and came out with How Hard Can It Be because I had seen it online places and I am pretty sure this is the place! It was going cheap as a trade paperback so … of course I bought it!!

the weather’s quite different here in Central Europe, we had a terrible hurricane on Friday, roof tiles were flying, trees uprooted etc….
Those Ts really look like somebody put them on inside out, don’t like the effect!
I vote green, but white is probably more practical and useable

They do look inside out…and the bottom is shredded…I bought them all.

We are having a heat wave here. It’s expected to be 110 for the 4th which nearly guarantees a brush fire.
I saw a trailer for Ant Man and it looks okay. Not Oscar material but that’s not why these films make so much money.

I know what you mean…Den and I go to these movies because they are so crazily outlandish!

You have the best eye for relaxed clothes. I got my new, house slippers today – Aerosoft Women’s Glitterati. My Vionic slippers were giving me cornchip toes.

Oh no…we don’t want cornchip toes. I have been wearing my black or white Allbirds all summer…I love them! I live for relaxed clothes…I can’t stand tight anything!
