A Bit Of Tuesday Fun…

So…I had a quick check up with my primary doctor yesterday…usually all appointments…even hair…can give me anxiety lately…but this one was good.  We had a good talk…a good hug…and Den and I were off!  It was too early to go to lunch so instead we went to that magical fun place…a place of incredible magical adventures…a place to meet new friends…COSTCO!  My workout yesterday was to push a massive cart and walk up and down every aisle.  Den had 5,000 steps when we were finished.  I forgot to wear my Fitbit. But my steps are smaller than his so I probably had even more steps!  Yahoo!

We bought wild caught salmon.  We bought packets of organic grains.  I love these because one packet is two servings that I put into a bowl topped with roasted veg or beans, avocado…sometimes even a dressing or a sauce.  I am forever pleased by the vast amount of organic foods that Costco carries.  We finally tried Costco’s Cauliflower Crust Pizza and it was really good.  I don’t really buy fresh fruits or vegetables from Costco…the packages are just way too big.  It’s the other stuff that we buy…tuna, pasta, pasta sauce, guacamole and hummus in single serve packets…it’s just totally fun to cruise the aisles and shop this way!  Den and I love doing this kind of shopping together.  I made a new friend near the grapes.  He bought red ones because I told him they were healthier.  It’s always fun to watch people chow down on the samples…Den included.

Books…I always think I am so aware of every new book that comes out but somehow I missed these…I am reading Truly Devious now and it’s good…really good!  Plus it takes place at a boarding school…Ellingham Acadamy.  Plus I love that the second book will be out by the time I finish the first.

I finished this…I think it’s actually the first Lisa Gardner book that I have read.  This one, too, was so good…fast paced…exciting…I can’t believe she has written so many books and I have missed them all!

I have been cooking!  Last night we had salmon with these sweet potato wedges…the wedges were seasoned with fresh rosemary, salt and pepper and olive oil.  They were delicious.

I am so hungry for deviled eggs.  I love them done this way.  From a blog called bell’alimento.

This is yet one more Mediterranean dinner from halfbakedharvest.  Farro, sundried tomatoes and chicken…I need to make this soon!

It’s getting colder and colder here…we may have snow over the week end!  I am really looking forward to snow!

I’m glad you had a good appointment and felt invigorated enough to go to Costco. Big stores always exhaust me. LOL.

Enjoy your books…I think I get a lot of them, but you always find books that I haven’t even heard of. Except, of course, Lisa Gardner. I’ve been reading her books for years…but I don’t have that one yet. It is bookmarked on Amazon.

We definitely have similar food tastes… I just pinned that farro/sun-dried tomato/chicken recipe this morning! And do you know I’ve never, ever been in a Costco. Do you have to have a membership to shop there? Glad your appointment went well 🙂

We do have similar food tastes. I think that Costco will let you shop the first time with a guest membership. I am not sure though. We definitely find many things to buy there…of really great quality.

I love the green grapes myself, but my husband has starting getting the red ones for the same health reasons you mentioned. All the food looks so yummy! My best to the girls and Den!! Happy New Year to you all…

That chicken dish looks so good. Are those large chunks of feta?? Love that.

Today I have salmon again because I baked three meals worth of it. But I love it so much. I know you can’t have too much of it because of mercury so maybe tomorrow I’ll bring something else.

We had to buy a large piece of salmon so we are having it again with regular potato wedges. I love salmon, too…esp. baked in the oven. We just had Teriaki Ramen Noodles and veg…for lunch…another organic kit from Costco. Those are large feta chunks. Can you eat Farro? The recipe says you can use brown rice in it the same way!

We got a wee dusting of snow overnight but that’s about it. At least so far lol. Oh my gosh I’m so hungry now after seeing that pic. Looks delicious!! The last one- I need that haha.

I love organic but don’t have a Costco membership. Hmm I may have to rethink that!

I liked Truly Devious and can’t wait for that sequel!!

Well grocery shopping is certainly an interesting way to build up the steps count. The devilled eggs look gorgeous and I’ll leave you quite happily to your books.

We don’t have a Costco membership but I got our nephew to take me while he was here and I loaded up on fresh fruits and veggies – we love them for snacks. You can drop a lot of money there in a short time.

I’ve never seen deviled eggs done that way.

I know…you spend a ton while you think you are saving. Me either but I am so hungry for deviled eggs. There’s a place nearby that makes them for a starter. You get 5 halves in a serving!

I’m glad your appointment went well. I have a friend who works in Costco’s bakery, but I’ve never actually been there. Everything just seems so big.
I am not looking forward to the snow this weekend. I need to move south one, or be one of the snowbirds that go south for the winter.

There’s just the two of us but we have slowly learned how to buy things there. I just got a card for the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh! I am so excited. Anyone who lives in PA can get a card there! I found this out through the novel I am reading!

I love Costco. We’re going today. My husband loves those red grapes! I’ll wear my fitbit 🙂
The Lisa Gardner book sounds good (love a fast pace). I haven’t read her before. As usual, the food all looks wonderful.
