Books…
I have no clue what I am going to read next…but…what I am doing is going through all my NetGalley and Edelweiss Stuff and reading as much as I can that will be published in January…for me this is an attempt at an organized system. I make myself proud! I am patting myself on the back even!
So…these are what I am going to focus on this week…all of these are from NetGalley.
Thoughts…
Clean good healthy eating is what I want to do…now more than ever! One of my fave food bloggers posted this today…and then a week’s worth of other recipes! Count Patty and Den in! Half Baked Harvest and her healthy eating plan…
Adventures…
Last night in Kennett Square there was the Almost Annual Mushroom Drop! According to friends the town was filled with revelers! Den and I tried so hard to stay awake for something on TV…actually even Fox’s but all I remember is…nothing…but we really tried…it’s when I slide down on my flannelly polka dotted pillow that I literally fall asleep! Fast! Deeply! Only to wake up at three to read…I have to change this routine somehow…
The mushroom drop! You seriously have to see this! I do live in the Mushroom Capital Of The World!
Den braved the chill winds and frightening temps to trek to Weggieman’s this morning for good healthy New Year’s foods…so we had Maple Buns for breakfast…we are having sushi for lunch and some form of sauerkraut, black eyed peas and hot dogs for dinner! All organic…except the chocolate chocolate cake we are having for dessert. Sigh! My mom would have made a huge pork roast but I just couldn’t deal with it…I don’t know how to get past these food traditions on New Year’s Day…they overwhelm me! So…I had to simplify!
Happy New Year!
Hugs,
Patty
I would love a slice of that chocolate cake! But the healthy foods look good, too. Enjoy!
Your books are new to me, except A Dangerous Crossing, which I enjoyed.
Happy New Year!

I didn’t even try to stay up last night. It’s so cold here there weren’t many people setting off fireworks so I could actually sleep. I am over winter already and don’t know how people deal with this kind of cold every year.
Happy New Year to you and sweet Den!

Thank you! I know what you mean…burrowing in my flannel sheets is the best thing I do lately. The best to you and Carl and Vance, too!

Happy New Year!!!
I love the dropping of the mushroom. The town I grew up in (around 5K people) has a dropping of “Lucky” the carp on NYE. I kid you not! They didn’t do that when I lived there but for the past 20 years or so it’s become a tradition. I’ve never been there in person for it but my brother still lives there and just shakes his head, ha.

Happy New Year and that sounds like great food for New Year’s Day. Hehe I slept through the changeover from 2017 t0 2018 too! That mushroom is so darn cute although looks like a lot of cold air around it.

Hau’oli Makahiki Hou. How fun, a mushroom dropping; that’s different. I do love mushrooms. I’ve been craving mushroom lasagna.
