Our break in the weather didn’t last very long…and yesterday we needed stuff! We had no veg…no fruit…no milk…no kitty food! Yikes! We were both sweaty messes while we ran our errands. We bought strawberry açaí coolers at Starbucks to get us to our last stop…for all of the produce we needed…we bought sweet watermelon, cantaloupes, local tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, peaches and these tiny baby plums that are amazing! We had to get a fresh lemonade there to survive the trip home! We were seriously drenched. I never used to sweat but I was sweating! Ick! I don’t like to sweat! My plums are called cherry plums! Lucy…my fruit eating kitty…loved them! They are about the size of large grapes!
Today is Den’s golf day so I did a bit of shopping for both of us! I wanted comfy cool dresses so I found these…H&M…inexpensive…I did not buy all of them! I just bought a few of them…heeheehee….really…they were on sale!
So…please don’t tell Den…and these are just comfies to wear around the house…but these are on the way to him…sweat pant shorts! I love them! He loves big baggy comfy shorts around the house! He will look so pretty in these…I could have got matching tees but…just teasing…I would never do that to him!
Books!
I am reading these now…I am finishing People Like Us…boarding school, priveliged as well as unprivileged girls…and quite a few murders…and seemingly tangled sexual identities. It’s a fast moving book which I won’t review because it’s a surprise library book. It’s like a bonus! As soon as I finish it I need to finish Spinning Silver and start the other two! Whew!
Den is on the way home with a big ole’ cheeseburger and a root beer for me! Yum! In the meantime…we read, play Word Chums, watch movies and try to stay cool!

A root beer sounds really good right now. Love the comfy dresses – so cute. I’ll be reading The Subway Girls in the next few weeks. Elizabeth loved it. Stay cool!

The thoughts about Subway Girls make it sound really good! Of course I got sidetracked again by another one so I haven’t started it yet. My soft drink of choice is root beer. I try not to drink it very often…we have a local one that is so amazing…I crave it!

The Other Woman looks good…and so do the dresses. Burgers? I haven’t had one in a while…but I’m also craving Mexican food.
Enjoy cooling off.

Me, either but he says he will wear them…we saw someone wearing cool sweat shorts and he expressed a desire for them…I bought him gray and white, too, but I couldn’t resist the flowered ones. He will only wear them in the house…I think! I had to search all over for these…an exhaustive search!

We found a local farmer with some fresh produce today so I have been pigging out and am stuffed but now I want some cherry plums.
It’s hot here too. I thought about running tonight but think I’ll wait until the morning when it will be a little cooler. Talking about sweat, you don’t want to see me after I run. It is not pretty.

You are too funny. I just ate a fresh local peach and it was amazing! And Den made tomatoes on toast for breakfast. Again…a big juicy local tomato! I would have thought that your area would have tons of farmer’s markets…the local red lettuces we bought are so delicious!

I wonder if they are mirabelle plums! They are so sweet and tiny! I bet the tea would be good. My Hungarian MIL made many plum desserts so I think that Hungarians must love plums! Am I right?
