I am discovering that this is a different sort of Lisa Jewell book. It’s still really good but it’s sort of complicated in an unusual sort of way. Every one in this book is either abhorred by or fascinated with Tom Fitzwilliam…a master headmaster who is moved from school to school because he is an expert at making schools excellent. Each chapter simply pulls me in…the intensity in this book just grows! It’s yummy!
Up next? One or two of these from NetGalley…
And much to my surprise I am listening to a book…yep…I swore I would never listen to a book but I think I finally chose just the right one…this one…it helped while I was waiting for my procedure yesterday. Everyone thought I was sleeping but I was listening intently!
On our deck yesterday…in the rain! Isn’t she amazing?
At the hospital yesterday…getting one port in and one port out. Normally you would get something called yummy twilight sleep but apparently I wiggle too much so they totally knocked me out.
When I woke up I thought I was in heaven…it was bright and I was surrounded by bags and booties. I was in Free People! I need this bag! I have been only carrying small cross body bags…with this one I have both!
And I am still on a bootie hunt…I need just the right ones!
We are back to the hospital today…I can’t even believe it. I have to have one more test called a Muggatest? Huggatest? Not sure…it checks your heart before…I can barely say it…chemo. Sigh!
Hugs always…
Patty
PS…
If anything doesn’t make sense in this post I am blaming it on anesthesia!
I am also loving Watching You. I am not that far into it yet, as I’ve been distracted this week.
I do love that bag! I have a bag obsession, I must admit.
I hope you get through the week and have a good weekend.

I don’t think you can have too many booties but can you imagine, that I only own one pair. I must change that.
I hope the heart test went okay and that you aren’t sore from the port insertion.

I just got Watching You yesterday and can’t wait to dig in. I loved Pachinko and am happy to see the audio is well done.
I’m so sorry about the port and all the other procedures. I hate medical stuff but I know all of this is going to help you. *hugs*

The port was awful…waking up was fun. I had one last heart test today because my heart has to be perfect to deal with this new chemo. I could listen to Pachinko while I was in the machine and it was wonderful!

All the post makes complete sense! I am pleased you found the right audiobook and that you are loving it. When a narrator is right then I believe audio cannot be beaten! Hugs.

I am glad you are enjoying your book and that you are listening to an audio book. I listen to them regularly. Makes running errands and driving in the car very enjoyable- or sometimes even when I am doing work on the computer. I can imagine it would make treatments better for sure. Of course- it all depends on the audio book narrator.

Hope you will like the Pachinko series when they do it.
Boo and hiss on the chemo! Hope you are using some of the magical natural products that ease the symptoms of chemo. Like Russian chaga, some amygdalin, cannabis oil, cordyceps and other magical shrooms…. Russians and Cubans are million light years ahead of USA in curing cancer, but your pharmaceutical industry would never let you know that….

Maybe I should come and stay with you and fight it there!

I’m not in Russia, deary 🙂 But I’d certainly visit Cuba, it’s closer to you!
My country is, sadly, a bad place for cancer as the Americans dropped poisonous bombs on us back in 1999 which are still causing cancer among men, women and kids, sadly 😦 After the bombing the cancer rates have gone 20% up here.
