Well…the best season of the year has ended…according to Den. What will we base our Sunday entertainment around? I bought this game so that Den and I would have something fun to do on long Sunday afternoons. But I forgot that playing any kind of game that has pieces that can be swept onto the floor by a curious kitty is next to impossible with Roxie. Sigh! We have to play when she is napping. We can’t put her in another room because she has this teeny tiny heartbreaking little cry that can get louder if we don’t respond. So we respond…spoiled Roxie!
Anyway…our Sunday routine has revolved around football since September. Den goes to an early church, stops at Talulah’s Table for a breakfast burrito…that we split… and an amazing home baked cinnamon roll with gobs of cream cheese icing…that we don’t split. Then he gets the Sunday NYT for me and the Philadelphia papers for him. We have breakfast, read papers, drink coffee, watch Sunday Morning and wait for the first game. Now we will keep the same schedule but have a big blank where the games used to be. We run errands during the week because we love staying home on the week ends…for football…but now? No mo football! One of us is happy…one of us is sad. My idea is to try something new on Sunday afternoon…pasta making? Bread making? Philly Tomato Pie making? We shall see. This is a Philly tomato pie…thick sauce that is a bit sweet, only grated Italian cheeses, and a focaccia like crust. They are really yummy!
Books…
Finishing this. I loved it. Characters that you love to dislike. By the end of the book I didn’t like anyone! But it was so good. I read all day long. I barely noticed anyone in my house…kitties or human. This book was amazing!
I am definitely reading this next!
A few new books…from publishers and NetGalley…
It is sunny and 52 degrees here today! We are having leftover Super Bowl treats for lunch!

I like the look of I Invited Her In.
Now I am craving that Philly Tomato Pie. Yum.
Enjoy your week, and thanks for sharing.

There’s always basketball! Carl and I used to play a lot of backgammon when we first married. He gave me a new game for Christmas to we’re playing it again – it has pieces that would be attractive to kitties, too, though.
It’s 68 here and I love it!

Pieces…especially puzzle ones…are very attractive to Roxie. She loves to knock things down!

Ah I hate it when a favourite sport season is over. I’m with Den! Your Sunday weekend sounds great, I just love the sound of the relaxation and quiet company. I’ve stopped looking at NG and Edelweiss for now anyway!

It will take him a while to get used to no football.

Yes, football is over, but I’ll second Kathy’s suggestion of basketball… especially college. March Madness is right around the corner! Rummikub is such a fun game. The Great Believers is my current read – so good! Have you read that one?

I don’t think I have read Great Believers but I will check it out. I forgot about basketball! Den loved the Sixers and Joelle Mbede!

Seeing Rummikub made me laugh out loud. My family loves this game 😀
I’m more of a baseball fan but also love March Madness just for the excitement.
