We had a quiet weekend but that was ok. My Neulasta issues weren’t as awful as they were last month or else I am just getting used to them. But today I feel as though I am stepping out of a fog and it feels good. I folded two baskets of laundry and then had to rest…I guess it’s just what going through chemo does to my body. I have a friend who has a friend going through chemo who is working while going through chemo…I could not do it. I am weak during chemo…I need to be in our room…with Den hovering. I could not do this without him. And…I truly am strong in real life. Den’s career at DuPont had him all over the world while I was at home teaching through storms, ice, snow and squirrels in the basement. Den says it’s my time to give in and let him take care of things…I am ok with that.
Today Den is having lunch with his friends at an amazing Mexican restaurant. He is bringing me a Loaded Chicken Tostada for lunch and Homemade Tamales for dinner. We will have them with salad. Yum!
What I am reading…
I accidentally stumbled upon this book from NetGalley and I can’t put it down. Students at a university are falling asleep and not waking up and noone knows why. The university is in a small quaint California town and this sleepiness is leaching out to people in the community. It’s written in relatively short succinct chapters and I read half of the book before I even realized it.
I also started this one…so good…
But I put aside this one…which isn’t coming out until summer.
Some yummy new books from NetGalley included a few fast read cozy mysteries…
And that was my weekend as well as my Monday!
Have a great start to your week!

Yum! I love the look of that Mexican food.
I also enjoy books with short chapters, so The Dreamers is tempting me. And I want to read the Abbi Waxman book.
Enjoy your day!

Glad you’re feeling better to do a little something here and there. Den’s lunch sounds delicious. We are going to have to try a Mexican place around here.

Mad props to the person working while going through chemo, I haven’t done it but I’ve seen how people react to it. That dinner looks delicious and now I’m hungry!
I read The Dreamers, it was just okay for me.

Not all chemo’s the same so don’t compare yourself to other people and let Den take care of you!

I think Den is right. He’s a smart guy and you should listen to him. There’s nothing wrong with needing a loved one to help us through tough times. 🙂

Its a sign of strength I do believe to know when you can say you need someone else and Den just sounds perfect, it really makes me believe in love and goodness, why aren’t these kind of things on the news! Books look great, food gorgeous.

At my conference the food was not great so one day I splurged and went to the expensive place I was avoiding and had the best Mahi Mahi tacos and the server brought me some freshly made chips with guacamole too. I was in heaven after a breakfast of bottled juice and a protein bar. That fish was so good.
